It was cooler today than it has been a lot during this past week, so I went out to the studio while DLJ and Derek were off on some errands.
I had some success with my kiln problems, getting the Storm Technique to work better. Yay. I’m still gunshy on putting effort into a really good bead, and then having it crash and burn with storming, but maybe I will try tomorrow. I was going to make another Rivet bead but I liked the design so much, it seemed wrong to slap a bunch of silver over it, so I left it as is. Tomorrow I will make one that says “Hope.” What other one-word sayings would be good for focal necklace beads? Comment with some suggestions. Everyone who comments will get put in a hat, you have one week from today. I will then pick a winner at random and make TWO rivet beads, and one will go to a commenter on this post. =)

I like the words “Believe” and “Courage” as well as “Love” and “Dream.” But I like “Courage” best. =)
Beautiful bead! I was going to suggest “love” until I saw that you did that already. How about “live”? If you can squeeze in 5 letters how about “dream”?

I can squeeze 5 letter for sure! I have some pretty small letters if need be, I managed “Ho Ho Ho” on a wreath attempt last winter. =)
