I made a new pendant a few days ago, using dichroic glass. I so rarely do. I just am not a dichroic glas user and then I see it in other work by other people and I love it.
I have been trying to master getting … I don’t know what to call them, grooves in my work. Clear settling into where color is, pushing it out. You can see it on the left side of this bead, but too much clear, which did make an interesting effect. Doing this with semi or translucent colored glass is just gorgeous…but I am not there yet. I can see it better as I work using opaque colors as my base.
A coffee table book arrived today. It is called Art Glass Today. It’s pretty neat. It has my work in it. I feel all REAL ARTIST and stuff. I have one copy for me, one for my mother, and one to bring to shows to put at my booth. There are two pages with my work.
Of course, I want it to be work done SINCE I sent in the pieces for the book…which was almost a year ago. They look lovely and I still make a few of them…but I feel like already I have grown so much.
Hopefully there will be an Art Glass 2.
