It’s April! I have been so remiss in blog entries for a couple months, and I do apologize.
I know, I know, you missed my missives so.
I will try to make up for it with this one.
I hope all of you are doing well right now, happy in life and love and family. It’s a crazy year already and sometimes I just stop and breathe for a moment and remember that connection is where so much can feel better in life, or make something good, fantastic.
Speaking of family, it’s time for the Gathering of the Guilds, again, with my family within CMAG, the Creative Metal Arts Guild of Portland. And the Glass Guild. While I now show my work from the CMAG area, the glassies are long-time family and I look forward to escaping from my booth here and there to catch up with them. This year, my booth faces out towards the woodworkers area, on the outer edge of CMAG, and I am looking forward to seeing all the fantastic wood carvings, furniture and other creations all weekend from my vantage point.
I will have lots of new work, with oodles of sterling silver, maybe even a little bit of gold! And of course, lots and lots of glass, new designs and signature styles. The event is free and at the Oregon Convention Center all weekend, April 27-29. Stop by and say hi!
It’s busy in the studio as a result of the show coming up, I’m hoping to work on a bunch of earrings the rest of the week, for example, while glass lentils bubble away with electroforming work to turn into pendants. And there’s about six regular pendants in varying states of completion hanging out on the bench. All to take care of in the next few weeks. The pendant above I just finished last week, and I LOVE it. It’s going to be on display in May in a gallery in the Pearl, more on that in the next blog, which will arrive before the Gathering of the Guilds does! I really hope you can make it to the show, or just drop me a line to say hello, or if there’s anything glassy you need to round out your summer party fashions!
