It’s been quiet at juiceglass.com. At least, as far as the world can see.
But things are happening in the background.
I’m hoping by the beginning of the year to start selling online through this website, which is something I have never done. It requires a lot of changes, both to the site, and to my work flow at home at the bench, so it’s been a slow but steady process. Add the holiday crush into that and it’s been backburnered for the last few weeks, and will probably be a change that you all see in January.
The good news is, my work will be a lot more readily accessible than it is now. Right now it’s mostly in galleries in Oregon, and at a few shows every year. As a single Mom, it’s a nice balance, actually, because I can’t have my butt in the bench chair every day, all day. But I do want to interact more, and connect with more and more folks. The internet has to be good for something other than cat videos, right? (Cat videos ARE pretty awesome though, I have to admit.)
So, someday soon, this site will look a little odd and broken, perhaps, and I am apologizing in advance as I shake out the nuts and bolts. I used to be a web developer, but that was many moons ago, and while I know enough still to run my own site, which is part of why I want to sell direct, because I know enough to make it happen without needing to hire someone, I’m definitely not a modern master, so it takes me a little time. I am really looking forward to it though, and interacting more with all of you in the coming year.
It wouldn’t be right to leave you without a little glass yumminess, so here’s a piece I made to take to the Volta Gallery this weekend, out at the Oregon coast. I wish you all a happy rest of the week, and a gratitude and love-filled Thanksgiving for those who celebrate the holiday in any fashion this week.
